Ingredients
- —160g chicken breast, cut into small Yakitori cubes
- —1 small leek, sliced into thin rings
- —1 clove of garlic, finely chopped
- —1 small piece of fresh ginger (1 cm), grated
- —1 teaspoon lemon zest
- —Salt and pepper to taste
- —2–3 tablespoons water for cooking
Instructions
Place the chicken cubes in the pan and let them gently develop some color.
As the chicken starts to warm up, add the garlic and ginger — let them mingle for a moment.
Sprinkle the leek rings over the top and stir everything together with ease.
Let the pan simmer gently until the dish is warm, fragrant, and slightly glossy.
Time to finish: a touch of lemon zest, some salt and pepper — done.
Serve the Yakitori as the Japanese love it: light, minimalist, and warm.
Serving Tip
Skewer three pieces of chicken and place it casually on top of the bowl, with some leek playfully scattered. A small wedge of lemon on the side adds a cheerful, fresh touch.
Storage Tip
Eat immediately while warm — Yakitori thrives on attention, not on storage.
