Chicory Casserole with Mozzarella and Tomato

Ingredients

  • 3 heads of chicory, sliced into strips
  • 100 g cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 100 g mozzarella
  • 1 tsp olive oil
  • Pepper, salt
  • Thyme or basil

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 180 °C (356 °F).

  • Slice the chicory into strips and cook or steam for 3–4 minutes until slightly softened.

  • Drain and let it sit briefly to remove excess moisture.

  • Mix the chicory with the tomatoes, drizzle with olive oil, and season with herbs.

  • Top with mozzarella and bake for 20 minutes until the cheese turns golden brown.

  • Air fryer option: 170 °C (338 °F) – 12–14 minutes

Serving Tip

Serve directly from the baking dish or on a white plate to highlight the colors of the chicory, tomato, and mozzarella. Garnish with a few fresh basil leaves or a pinch of black pepper.

Storage Tip

Store for up to 1 day in the refrigerator. Reheat in the oven at 160 °C (320 °F) for 10 minutes.
