Caprese Salad

Ingredients

  • 1 large ripe tomato or 6 cherry tomatoes, sliced
  • 70 g buffalo mozzarella or soft goat mozzarella
  • A handful of fresh basil leaves
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • Pepper and sea salt to taste

Instructions

- Slice the tomato and mozzarella into rounds or half-moons.

- Arrange the tomato and mozzarella alternately on a plate.

- Scatter fresh basil leaves in between.

- Mix olive oil, lemon juice, lemon zest, pepper, and salt into a light dressing.

- Drizzle the dressing over the salad just before serving.

- Serve immediately for optimal freshness.

Serving Tip

Serve on a wide, white plate to highlight the vibrant colors of the tomato and basil.

Storage Tip

Add fresh basil only at the last moment; the salad is best enjoyed right after preparation.
